Surah Adh-Dhariyatسورة الذاريات

وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا ﴿١﴾

51:1 By the winds that scatters [dust]

فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا ﴿٢﴾

51:2 and by the heavily-laden clouds with water

فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا ﴿٣﴾

51:3 and by the ships that sail with ease

فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا ﴿٤﴾

51:4 and by the angels who distribute [blessings] by His command

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ ﴿٥﴾

51:5 Indeed, what you are promised is true

وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ ﴿٦﴾

51:6 and the Judgment will surely come to pass

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ ﴿٧﴾

51:7 By the heaven with its pathways

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ ﴿٨﴾

51:8 Indeed, you [Makkans] have conflicting views [about the truth]

يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ ﴿٩﴾

51:9 He who is diverted from it is destined to be diverted

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ ﴿١٠﴾

51:10 Doomed are those who base their beliefs on conjecture

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ ﴿١١﴾

51:11 those who are steeped in ignorance heedlessly

يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ﴿١٢﴾

51:12 They ask [mockingly], “When is the Day of Judgment?”

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ ﴿١٣﴾

51:13 It is the Day when they will be punished by the Fire

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

51:14 [It will be said], “Taste your punishment! This is what you were seeking to hasten.”

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿١٥﴾

51:15 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and springs

ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٦﴾

51:16 receiving what their Lord will give them, for they were indeed doers of good beforehand

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ ﴿١٧﴾

51:17 They used to sleep but little at night

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ﴿١٨﴾

51:18 and before dawn they would seek forgiveness

وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ ﴿١٩﴾

51:19 and in their wealth, there was a share for the beggar and the destitute

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ ﴿٢٠﴾

51:20 On earth there are signs for those who are certain in faith

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴿٢١﴾

51:21 and also in your own selves. Do you not see

وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

51:22 And in the heaven is your provision and all that you are promised

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

51:23 By the Lord of the heaven and earth, this [resurrection] is certainly as true as the fact that you can speak

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ ﴿٢٤﴾

51:24 Has there come to you the story of Abraham’s honored guests

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾

51:25 When they came to him and said, “Peace.” He said, “Upon you be peace.” [saying to himself] “Unknown people!”

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ ﴿٢٦﴾

51:26 Then he went quickly to his household, and came with a fat [roasted] calf

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ ﴿٢٧﴾

51:27 and placed it before them and said, “Will you not eat?”

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ ﴿٢٨﴾

51:28 He perceived a fear of them. They said, “Do not be afraid,” and gave him glad tidings of a knowledgeable son

فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ ﴿٢٩﴾

51:29 His wife cried out loud, and struck her face [in astonishment] and said, “[I am] a barren old woman!”

قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿٣٠﴾

51:30 They said, “This is what your Lord said. Indeed, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.”

۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿٣١﴾

51:31 Abraham said, “Then what is your mission, O messengers?”

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ ﴿٣٢﴾

51:32 They said, “We have been sent to a wicked people

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ ﴿٣٣﴾

51:33 to send down upon them stones of clay

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ ﴿٣٤﴾

51:34 marked by your Lord for the transgressors.”

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٣٥﴾

51:35 We brought out those believers who were there

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ ﴿٣٦﴾

51:36 but We only found in it one Muslim household [Lot's family]

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ ﴿٣٧﴾

51:37 And We left there a sign [as a lesson] for those who fear the painful punishment

وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿٣٨﴾

51:38 And [there is a sign in the story of] Moses when We sent him to Pharaoh with compelling proofs

فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ﴿٣٩﴾

51:39 But he and his supporters turned away, and he said about [Moses], “A magician or a madman!”

فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ ﴿٤٠﴾

51:40 So We seized him and his soldiers, and cast them into the sea while he was blameworthy

وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ ﴿٤١﴾

51:41 And [there is a sign in the story of] ‘Ād, when We sent against them the devastating barren wind

مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ ﴿٤٢﴾

51:42 It spared nothing it came upon except that it reduced it to ruin and decay

وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ ﴿٤٣﴾

51:43 And [there is a sign in the story of] Thamūd, when they were told, “Enjoy yourselves for a while.”

فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾

51:44 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them, while they were looking on

فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾

51:45 They could not withstand it, nor could they ward it off

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ ﴿٤٦﴾

51:46 And the people of Noah [were also destroyed] before them. They were indeed a rebellious people

وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ ﴿٤٧﴾

51:47 We built the heaven with might, and We are indeed expanding it

وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ ﴿٤٨﴾

51:48 And We spread out the earth. How well did We smooth it out

وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٤٩﴾

51:49 And We have created everything in pairs, so that you may take heed

فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٥٠﴾

51:50 So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am a clear warner to you from Him

وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿٥١﴾

51:51 And do not set up another god with Allah. Indeed, I am a clear warner to you from Him.”

كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ ﴿٥٢﴾

51:52 Likewise, no messenger came to those before them without being told: “A magician, or a madman!”

أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ ﴿٥٣﴾

51:53 Did they suggest this to one another? Rather they are a transgressing people

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ ﴿٥٤﴾

51:54 So turn away from them [O Prophet], for you are not to blame

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٥٥﴾

51:55 But keep reminding them, for reminder benefits the believers

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ ﴿٥٦﴾

51:56 I have not created the jinn and mankind except to worship Me

مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ ﴿٥٧﴾

51:57 I seek no provision from them, nor do I want them to feed Me

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ ﴿٥٨﴾

51:58 Indeed, it is Allah Who is the All-Provider, Lord of Power, the Mighty

فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ ﴿٥٩﴾

51:59 Indeed, those who do wrong will have a share [of [punishment] like that of their predecessors, so let them not ask Me to hasten it

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ ﴿٦٠﴾

51:60 So woe to those who disbelieve from [the punishment of] the Day which they are promised
