Surah An-Nabaسورة النبأ

عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ﴿١﴾

78:1 About what are they asking one another

عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿٢﴾

78:2 About the momentous news

ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿٣﴾

78:3 about which they differ

كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾

78:4 No indeed; they will come to know

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٥﴾

78:5 Again no; they will come to know

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَـٰدًا ﴿٦﴾

78:6 Have We not made the earth a resting place

وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا ﴿٧﴾

78:7 And the mountains as stakes

وَخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ﴿٨﴾

78:8 and created you in pairs

وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا ﴿٩﴾

78:9 and made your sleep for rest

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا ﴿١٠﴾

78:10 and made the night a covering

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا ﴿١١﴾

78:11 and made the day for seeking livelihood

وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا ﴿١٢﴾

78:12 and built above you seven mighty heavens

وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا ﴿١٣﴾

78:13 and made therein a blazing lamp

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا ﴿١٤﴾

78:14 and sent down from the rainclouds abundant water

لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا ﴿١٥﴾

78:15 so that We may produce thereby grains and vegetation

وَجَنَّـٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا ﴿١٦﴾

78:16 and gardens with dense foliage

إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَـٰتًا ﴿١٧﴾

78:17 Indeed, the Day of Judgment is a time appointed

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ﴿١٨﴾

78:18 the Day when the Trumpet will be blown, you will come forth in crowds

وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا ﴿١٩﴾

78:19 and the sky will be opened up and will become gateways

وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ﴿٢٠﴾

78:20 and the mountains will vanish, becoming like a mirage

إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ﴿٢١﴾

78:21 Indeed, Hell is lying in wait

لِّلطَّـٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا ﴿٢٢﴾

78:22 a resort for the transgressors

لَّـٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا ﴿٢٣﴾

78:23 wherein they will abide for endless ages

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا ﴿٢٤﴾

78:24 They will neither taste therein any coolness nor any drink

إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا ﴿٢٥﴾

78:25 except scalding water and discharge of wounds

جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا ﴿٢٦﴾

78:26 a fitting recompense

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا ﴿٢٧﴾

78:27 Indeed, they did not expect a reckoning

وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا ﴿٢٨﴾

78:28 and utterly rejected Our verses

وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ كِتَـٰبًا ﴿٢٩﴾

78:29 But We have enumerated everything in a record

فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ﴿٣٠﴾

78:30 So taste [the punishment], for We will not increase you except in torment.”

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ﴿٣١﴾

78:31 Indeed, the righteous will have salvation

حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَـٰبًا ﴿٣٢﴾

78:32 gardens and vineyards

وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا ﴿٣٣﴾

78:33 and full-bosomed maidens of equal age

وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا ﴿٣٤﴾

78:34 and a full cup [of wine]

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا ﴿٣٥﴾

78:35 They will not hear therein vain talk or lies –

جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا ﴿٣٦﴾

78:36 a reward and a generous gift from your Lord

رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ﴿٣٧﴾

78:37 [from] the Lord of the heavens and earth and all that is between them, the Most Compassionate; none will dare to speak to Him

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ﴿٣٨﴾

78:38 On the Day when the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows; none will dare to speak, except those to whom the Most Compassionate granted permission, and they will only speak the truth

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا ﴿٣٩﴾

78:39 That Day is sure to come. So whoever wills may seek a path leading to his Lord

إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَـٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا ﴿٤٠﴾

78:40 Indeed, We have warned you of an imminent punishment on the Day when everyone will see what his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!”
